The annual search for customer service, excellence and innovation in card and payments begins as the Call for Entries for The Card & Payments Awards 2018 is launched with a deadline of Monday 2nd October 2017.
The aim of the Card & Payments Awards, now in its thirteenth year, is to reward businesses in the UK and Irish card and payments market who respond to customers’ needs with responsible lending practices, product and technological innovation, and operational excellence. The Card & Payments Awards is open to entries from credit, debit, prepaid and charge card issuers as well as merchant acquirers and other payment providers in the UK and Republic of Ireland. For the first time for 2018, we have also opened up a new category for Best Achievement in Payments Processing, opening up entries for PSPs, ISOs, processors and aggregators.
The Awards, whose Prime Sponsor is TSYS, continue to be judged by an independent panel, chaired by Roger Alexander, Portfolio of NED and Advisory Roles.
The panel includes industry representatives from the UK and Irish umbrella payment bodies, TSYS, Ingenico and The UK Cards Association, and all four main card payment organisations, American Express, Diners Club international, Mastercard and Visa as well as the Electronic Money Association, Amazon, the Prepaid International Forum and industry consultancies.
Categories cover technology initiatives, innovation, payment processing, industry newcomers, security and anti-fraud, marketing, design, CSR and customer service. The awards also include dedicated categories for alternative payments providers, debit, credit and business card programmes and for initiatives launched within retail.
The awards process will culminate in a black-tie Awards Dinner & Ceremony next February at The Grosvenor House Hotel. The event traditionally sells out in advance and more than 1100 guests attended the 2017 Dinner and Ceremony.
The categories are designed to reflect a range of disciplines and activities that are common to issuers, payment card brands and payments services operating across the UK and Irish markets.
The categories, sponsored by American Express, Diners Club International, FICO, First Data, Gemalto, Ingenico (also a Silver Sponsor), Mastercard, TSYS, Visa and Worldpay, are as follows:
