The Card & Payments Awards has today officially released details of the charity beneficiary for the 2020 Awards, which take place next week, Thursday 6th February at The JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

For 2020, the Awards raffle will be held in aid of First Love Foundation. First Love Foundation gives food, support and advice to people who are facing crisis in their lives. From the moment someone walks into one of their foodbank centres, we sit down with them to listen to their story and understand how we can help them get their life back on track. We work together with our partners, to help people transform their lives and build stronger communities.

Denise Bentley, CEO of First Love Foundation, says “Every week we meet families and individuals that have fallen into crisis ranging from serious ill health, debt, homelessness, right through to domestic violence coupled with an ‘income shock’, leaving society’s most vulnerable without the financial resources to provide the most basic needs for themselves or their dependents trapping them in a cycle of poverty.”

“The generous funds raised through The Card & Payment Awards will enable First Love Foundation to support more people out of crisis and to live sustainably”.

Attendees at this years’ Awards will hear from Denise and have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for some exciting prizes, including a Burberry handbag, a wine-tasting experience, an overnight stay with breakfast for two at JW Marriott Grosvenor House, Two Champion’s League tickets, £500 Selfridges Vouchers and an Apple Watch.

The Card & Payments Awards is proud to boast a long history of supporting charities through an Awards night raffle. Since the first awards, we have raised vital funds for Anthony Nolan, MS Society, NSPCC, Teenage Cancer Trust, Samaritans, Mencap, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Shelter.

All of this has been made possible by Silver Sponsor and Payments Partner, Ingenico, the global leader in seamless payments. Ingenico will be supporting The Card and Payment Award’s fundraising by providing the payment terminals on the night.

Ian Benn, SVP Western Europe for Banks and Acquirers, Ingenico, says: “For the tenth successive year, The Card and Payments Awards will use Ingenico’s payment terminals to make it easy for guests to be generous. We are always delighted to support this programme and especially this year’s chosen charity, First Love Foundation. We will be making sure that guests can quickly and safely donate, so that they can spend more of their time enjoying their evening.  Ingenico is very proud to be able to play a small part in helping this valuable charity to deliver to its charter: supporting those in need.”
