The Card & Payments Awards is delighted to be celebrating its tenth anniversary. This event was founded in 2006 with the objective of providing a forum to recognise excellence in, among other disciplines, product structure and design, customer service and of course innovation in the UK and Irish card and payments industry.
For 2015 we reduced the number of categories, making what was already coveted, even more valuable. Despite reducing the number of categories, we received the second highest number of entries in the history of the event and there was a significant improvement in the quality of submission, making the majority of categories far more competitive than ever before.
You will see a range of interesting products, innovations and initiatives. There has been an interesting variety of new products introduced to market across all payment categories and a strong sense of customer centricity continues to dominate thinking. Within the shortlist, there are examples of great creativity, innovation, ingenuity and excellence.
With a generally high number of entries per category and an extremely high standard of submission this year, the task of shortlisting was exceptionally difficult for our judging panel, ably chaired for the first time by Roger Alexander. The panel was highly impressed by the quality of submission indicating, rightly, how important it is for organisations and individual teams to continue to showcase their efforts and excellence – unfortunately there can only be one winner.
We are extremely grateful to our independent judging panel who take their responsibilities very seriously and spend a significant amount of time shortlisting and judging entries.
We are also grateful to all our entrants for the time they take to enter the Awards. The level of participation is excellent and this is what makes the event.
The Card & Payments Awards Gala Evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London will take place on Thursday 5th February 2015. The host for the evening is the impersonator and actor Alistair McGowan. Please follow here to see the full list of Finalists.
